Male mysteries

See the big bowl? That's the one I fill with homemade salsa when two or three friends come over. We can inhale that much in short order...

See the little bowl? That's the one I filled recently when my husband and 3 of his grade school buddies got together for a little reunion. Same homemade salsa, different bowl, hardly a bite.

Men just just don't have it in them to graze.

Why is that?

Is it the same reason that men can walk away from a bowl of M & M's while women find it virtually impossible?

A bag of chips and dip is not safe in the presence of a group of women. Men will hardly notice the chips, but if for some reason they do get into them, they won't touch the dip.

Why is that?

It's one of life's mysteries that keeps me awake at night.

Well, honey, I don't know Don very well or his friends for that matter, but the menfolk I know (DY) can eat dip on it's own...who needs chips when you have fingers, or bread to dip...maybe that defective animal loving gene is connected somehow...DY is missing that gene and has a dip for dinner gene (o I could say so much there...)
thanks for posting...you are so insightful! love the salsa...'twas good today!

I'm with her, my husbands friends would jump right on a bag of chips and dip left out. Now if my teenage son and HIS friends were here, I'd have to watch and make sure they didn't eat the table, too.

Oh, that's easy. Dipping chips one at a time into the salsa is more work than just eating chips by the handful. Definitely a guy thing to do the minimum amount of work in order to get the maximum amount of food.

About the chickens, check your local laws (and HOA covenants, of course). Here even in the city and in just about all of the surrounding suburbs you can keep at least three chickens, provided they are hens, of course.
