I live in Florida, these show up in neighborhood ponds all the time. I wouldn't recommend them as inside pets, but they do keep the other wild animals away. =)

My question is, where in the world did your kids spot this in Indiana. Too chilly in IN for alligators and crocs!

Only take it home if you want to get rid of your little dogs. They would make a nice snack for the alligator. Well, you could clear the house of all small creatures that way. Nawww you don't want to do that.
