A memory I don't want to forget...
Being outside on the deck with dinner guests when a gallon of ice cream pops out the doggy door, followed by a hard-working 11 month old. He had opened the bottom freezer all by himself, retrieved the ice cream, pushed it across the kitchen floor, through the family room, heaved it out the doggy door, and then crawled through after it. A baby with a mission.
Yes, of course he got a big bowl after all that hard work!
Here he is with big sister, almost all grown up.
I wish I had written down more of the entertaining things my kids did when they were little, but at the time they were little it was all I could do to keep up with them, the house, work, life.
Now that they are a little older and a little (not much, just a little) more independent, I try to reach back into my mind and bring forth those little memories that I used to think of when I needed a "happy thought". Time and age are cruel however, and I find I can remember less and less of those things I thought I would never forget.
So, thanks for indulging me as I jot down that little memory of a one year old so a year from now, two years from now, I can still remember. It may be one of those things where "you had to be there", but trust me, it was pretty funny.

I remember when all three of your children were small enough to crawl thru the dog doors. They were too short to reach the door handle, so what better way to get outside. Time goes by so fast, you need to capture every moment
that is really cute! wish I had a doggy door just to see what my kids would do with it.
glad you are capturing moments...
I do this thing with my children.. I call it "Let's make a memory!" And when something like that happens.. I grab the child in a hug.. and say "Let's always remember ___________________"

Hey, you just scrapbooked!! Really. That's all there is to it...you've got a picture and a story and shared it. "Poof!, Viola!" You did it!! I'm into NO GUILT scrapbooking! Make it easy and make it work.
Blessings,

Great story, Sherry - that's one resourceful and strong child!
If my scrapbooking cousin were telling this story she'd have searched to find a little photo of an icecream carton in the right brand and flavor and 'glued' it onto the story... but please don't bother, I can imagine it just fine!

How funny. I am thankful we didn't have a doggy door. The monkey's excaped enough without an extra exit.
I know I have a picture of Seth going through the doggie door somewhere! I'm sure Daniel will discover the door this summer!
We don't have a doggie door, but I think 'ice cream' was one of Emily's first words.
It's hard to see the ever growing little people in front of us as anything other than what they are today. Thanks for reminding us to look back. Smooch.
Definitely write those memories down. Life flies past and the memory doesn't get any better let me tell you.
