The Badness of Cats

Take one really bad dog with puppy teeth that require constant chewing.

(Don't let the fake sleeping pose fool you.)

Add a cohort in crime with very sharp claws that need sharpening often....

And, add a boy who stands on the chew toy/scratching post

(NO. This is/was not really theirs to sharpen claws and teeth on, they did it without permission...and when you have those cute little cushions on the seat of a chair, you don't always notice what goes on beneath the cushion from the bottom side. Until it's too late).

AND......

Any idea how much it costs to repair one of those chairs?

I found out.

I don't want to discuss it further....

But wait, the day gets worse.....

"Mom! Esther left me a present in my laundry basket. Can you come get it please?"

I wonder what it is this time......

Poor baby bird. This is why I don't have bird feeders. We have generous cats and they feel the need to share.

We hope we saved him in time. Poor little birdie. Fly, fly far away...to Robin's Nesting Place, or Mary's paradise , Aunt Bee's Back Yard, or one of those other really nice places..... We love you but it's just too dangerous around here.

Bye, Bye, Birdie.

So....how was your week?

I found baby bunnies in my garden this week, that's how my week was.

I always knew cats were bad!

What a traumatic week you have been having Sherry. Never a dull moment at the zoo no doubt.

My husband hurt his hand last week and this week we finally found out that work was going to foot the bill - which was a nice relief. And work is getting to be so busy and stressful that I am waking up in the wee hours of the morning freaking out about projects I am behind on or forgot about. So, our week hasn't been too much better. BUT the sun is finally shining this weekend and it is supposed to warm up and my dad happened to come down and mow our yard for us on his way through town - things are looking up.

Wow! Was that your youngest who plunged through the chair? Was he totally surprised?!

Reading everyone's blogs just makes me feel so much better--so much more "normal." It's amazing how much we all have in common!

Better go! I have some blog-reading to catch up on while the baby is sleeping.

ahh.. poor chair!

Victoria looks like she is just beautiful. A word to the wise.. those kinds of dogs settle down around two years of age. Then, she'll be the mose amazing sweet dog ever. Keep the chew toys handy!!

I'm glad my kitty stays inside. I wouldn't want to have a little birdie present, and especially not a mouse present.

I'm amazed Esther didn't kill it. She must have just wanted to play.

Yikes that's why I don't have cats, it just wouldn't be fair to the birds. Though I did see a stray black cat skulking around my garden this evening...I better keep my eye on him. If I catch him I will send him to you, and you can send your poor little bird to me. ;)

Awww. Kitties just want to play. That's all. My Mom's cat used to present her with gifts every day :o/

Hope your days get a little calmer, Sherry! Somehow, I don't think they will...
